Eliot is proud to be affiliated with the New England Orchestra, founded and directed by Dr. Kay Roberts, and the Lowell Youth Orchestra and to serve as the venue for their performances.
Funded by the UMass President's Creative Economy Grant, Moses Greeley Parker Lectures, the Lowell National Parks, COOL, and the UML Center for Arts & Ideas.
Coming Nov. 17, 2012: Lura Smith Gospel Concert of Thanksgiving
On Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, the third annual Lura Smith Thanksgiving Gospel Concert drew more than 240 people and raised $8,000 to help prevent homelessness and provide youth college scholarships.
In addition to Lura, the concert featured 44 musicians and recording artists.
The concert was sponsored by Community Teamwork, Inc., the Merrimack Valley Regional Network to End Homelessness, and the Lura Smith Fund - Middlesex Community College Foundation.
